Willbee the Bumblebee

Willbee the Bumblebee
Craig Smith & Maureen Thompson
Illustrated by Katz Cowley

Feel the urge to get a little bit funky?

…his jersey unravelled from the bottom to the top.
And when he realised this,
 he lost his hum.
He was showing the whole garden
 his bare bum!

The creators of The Wonky Donkey are at it again, and why not?  It’s such a winning combination.  Craig Smith has teamed up with his mother Maureen Thompson to create the story, Katz Cowley’s illustrations are delightful as always, and Craig Smith has used his musical talents to make the very funky song for Willbee the Bumblebee.

Willbee finds himself in a bit of a predicament when his jersey unravels on a rose thorn, leaving him exposed, embarrassed and too cold to fly home.

Willbee the bumblebee explores friendship and helping others in need in a very fun and fresh flavour.  A big winner with children of all ages, definitely another one for the favourites shelf.  Willbee is endearing, sweet, filled with a fun to read story (which is even better to sing a long to), and values we all love to instil in our children.  Go get funky, I can’t wait till Craig’s album comes out with all his wonderful children’s songs.

Fantastic collaboration!
