An Aussie twist on the classic rhyme “If you’re happy and you know it”.  Filled with rhymes about possums, koalas, Tasmanian devils and much more Australian wildlife.  This book will have you singing rhymes such as this all day.

“If You’re Happy And You Know It” has saved my life! I sing the classic rhyme to my daughter to calm her down all the time and it got a little bit repetitive after a while, but since reading this, I can now mix it up a bit and not sing myself to sleep.

One of my favourites verses is:

If you’re a dingo and you know it, scratch your fleas,

If you’re a dingo and you know it, scratch your fleas,

If you’re a dingo and you know it then you really should just show it,

If you’re a dingo and you know it, scratch your fleas.

This would be a great book for the classroom because not only doesn’t it give the kids a laugh but teaches them about Australian wildlife at the same time.  I think I would be quite happy to know that my kids were reading this kind of literature at school.

All in all “If your happy and you know it” is a great read with fantastic
illustrations by Chris Kennett that allow the story to become more exciting and
fun.
