This is a wonderful book with wonderful illustrations about ten year old Sophie and her adventure into the murky shadow woods. She is on a mission but The Goblin King becomes an obstacle. Written in the third person but from Sophie’s perspective works extremely well.

Sophie is a bit like a tom-boy but with a great imagination and tenacity. The author has done this character proud, she is brave and loyal and an example to other little girls if they put their mind to something they can fulfill it!

Grandpa Bob throughout the story is a great character who nurtures  both Sophie and Anthony her twin brother who has been spoilt by Grandpa Bob.

Sophie’s wonderful imagination can only be a plus for girls who read this book and role model themselves on Sophie.  Jokes and images throughout enhance this story and a nice finish is at the back of the book where one gets a sneak peak of Sophie and the swamp boggles, the next adventure no doubt.

A great gift for a granddaughter or small daughter and  for this new series there is a special offer of $4.99 for a limited time only.
