A Bug in a Book review by Angela Hall.

Every single day dear Amos carries out the same routine, he gets dressed and heads off to work at the zoo where he dedicates his time to his very special animal friends.  He does those special things that make the animals feel happy and comfortable and improves their lives though little acts of time and love.

He would play chess with the elephant

(who thought and thought before making a move).

Then one day Amos wakes up to find he has the sniffles and decides he had better stay in bed.  Meanwhile back at the zoo all the animals are waiting and wondering where Amos could be.  They decide to find him, and in their own special ways show Amos just what he means to them by repaying the favour of time and care he gives so freely everyday.

This is a really delightful book about unconditional love that goes on without question and expectation.  And just how much quality time is appreciated by those who receive it.

Beautiful illustrations complement this lovely story to a t, capturing the elderly Amos and his animal friends in simple colours yet full of detail to create these endearing characters.

A book that could quickly become a well loved favourite.
