What an enchanting little story, of a young girl called Prudence, who longs for a pet of her very own. But her mum says “no” and her dad says “no”, so what is she to do. Prudence is not discouraged by her parents reluctance to getting her a pet, instead she finds herself her own pet, one that will not make a mess, or make a noise. She get’s herself a branch and names it branch. Branch is the perfect pet, until dad trips over it down the front steps, and the Prudence has to find a new pet!
A story I can relate to quite well myself, because when I was a child, my parents also told me I could not have a pet.

Prudence proves to be far more innovative than I ever was! A clever story, with fantastic, simple  illustrations. Great book for young children that just won’t take “NO” for an answer!
