Thomas wakes up in a box-like elevator and gets thrown into an unknown society, known as the Glade. The Glade is surrounded by stone walls that create The Maze, which changes every night. The Glade is an orderly place, where the elevator arrives once every fortnight for supplies, and once every month with a newbie … but when the elevator turns up at an unexpected time everything changes.
This book has been re-released as the movie hits the screens this month. It is full of action and suspense and will please fans of The Hunger Games. You won’t be able to work out exactly what is going on until close to the end and even then then there are twists and turns that leave you wanting more. This is the first in a trilogy and the sequel, The Scorch Trials, is sure to be just as suspenseful and is worth reading if you want to find out what happens next.
