Really everyone over the age of 15 or so should make jam. It’s not particularly complicated and if you look at this beautiful book written by Matthew Evans you will be inspired. There are some gorgeous looking recipes but the first I’ll make is the High Dumpsie Dearie.
As well as jams there are pastes, sauces, curds, pickles preserves and jellies. A veritable feast of goodies with the method clearly explained and beautifully illustrated too.A book you actually can judge by it’s lovely cover.
